The Massachusetts Bowling Association and The Mass Senior Games have come together to run the candlepin portion of the Mass Senior Games.  This event is open to all bowlers ages 50+ with no prior bowling experience.

 AGE BRACKETS:
    50-54 55-59 60-64 65-69 70-74
75-79 80-84 85-89 90+
Your age must be within the bracket as of:
December 31, 2007

QUALIFYING DATES: MARCH 4 - 10th, 2007

You can bowl to qualify out of any participating center.

Ficco’s Bowladrome

300 East Central St.

Rt.140, Franklin MA

All Finalists will receive: Senior Games T-shirt & promo items, complimentary coffee and donuts. Winners receive awards.

Cost: No Entry fee when bowled in a League.

When qualifying during open play pay only the open bowling fee.

Finals cost $25. paid to Mass Senior Games, (cost of bowling included).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who can participate?

  • Any man or woman aged 50 and up.
  • League Bowlers.
  • Open play Bowlers.
  • Tournament Bowlers.
  • Anyone bowling out of an MBA bowling center.

 

Who can not participate?

  • Anyone who has bowled in a senior pro-event in the last 5 years.
  • Anyone under 50 years old.
  • Anyone not bowling out of an MBA bowling center.

 

Where and when are the qualifying rounds?

  • They may bowl out of any participating MBA bowling center.
  • They must bowl during the week of March 4th – March 10th,  2007.
  • Participating centers may hold a tournament for this event if they like.

 

Do they need to sign up?

  • Anyone who wishes to qualify needs to fill out a sign-up sheet at the front desk prior to bowling.
  • Proprietors must give anyone who qualifies the 16th Annual Senior Games Application.

 

What is the cost for participating?

  • There is no cost for the Bowling Center to participate.
  • The bowler must pay open bowling fees if qualifying during open play.
  • The only cost to qualify during league play is the league fees.
  • The only cost to qualify during tournament play is the tournament fees.
  • If a bowler makes it to the finals, there is a $25. fee to participate.

 

What scores are used to qualify?

  • Open bowlers must use their first 3 consecutive strings.
  • League bowlers must use their first 3 consecutive strings.
  • Tournament bowlers must use their first 3 consecutive strings.

 

How many times can a bowler try to qualify?

·     Bowlers may attempt to qualify as many times as they wish during the week of March 4th – March 10th 2007.

·     Bowlers must pay for open bowling or Tournament/League fees for each additional qualifying attempt.

 

Where do we send the results?

  • All Results must be sent in to the Regional Committee Member no later than March 17th, 2007.
