1. PARTICIPATION
a. All participants in the 2008 Massachusetts Adult 100% Handicap State Tournament must be at least 17 years of age, and
be a current league bowler at a Massachusetts Bowling Association (MBA) member establishment or Western New England Candlepin
Association (WNECA) member establishment. Definition of a League Bowler –
A team member, not a substitute. (Substitute bowler averages Do Not Count.)
b. Youth bowlers who enter any portion of this tournament may not participate in the 2008 State Candlepin Youth Championships.
2. AVERAGE VERIFICATION AND IDENTIFICATION CARDS
a. All bowlers entering any adult event must file by mail for an average card with JIM BARBER, c/o LUCKY STRIKE RECREATION,

BUFFUM Street, LYNN, MA 01902. FILE EARLY. No cards will be issued in
person at the MBA office.
b. A $10.00 fee must accompany the average verification card request and all required information must be completed. Make checks payable to MBA Tournament.
c. Upon receipt of a completed average verification card request, bowler will then be issued an official MBA average card,
valid from February 15, 2008 to February 14, 2009 and a coupon good for 5 Free Strings of Open Play Bowling valid to December
31, 2008. Both cards will be honored at any MBA or WNECA establishment. Bowlers are required to present
their identification cards for every event, even qualifying events. No card on
file - No entry. Photo ID may be required at finals.
d. All entrants must have verified MBA or WNECA LEAGUE averages (at least 40 strings) in an MBA or WNECA establishment. TRUE average from 2,3,4,5 or 6 person teams shall be used in determining the highest
average.
e. PRO TOUR bowlers may participate provided they have a verified MBA or WNECA LEAGUE average as described above. PRO TOUR bowlers use the highest of either their Pro Tour Average or MBA / WNECA league
average.
f. Late league starters must have a minimum of 40 strings recorded as of date of filing for verification card.
g. Eliminate all fractions when submitting average. Declared average is individual
bowler’s sole responsibility.
h. ONLY Official MBA Verification Cards will be accepted as proof of average.
i. Average may not be changed after an individual has started any event, except to increase it.
j. Misrepresentation of any kind will result in disqualification of entire entry and forfeiture of all prize
monies. Bowlers submitting falsified information will be banned from participating
in any MBA sponsored Tournament for five (5) years.
3. ENTRIES
a. A bowler may enter each event only once.
b. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR CONSIDERED OFFICIALLY ENTERED WITHOUT THE ENTRY FEE.
MAKE CHECKS
PAYABLE TO MBA TOURNAMENT and MAIL TO:
1) Host center for each event entered.
2) “All Events” to host center for singles or doubles. (No entry fee required)
c. Proof of entry is the responsibility of the bowler
d. POSITIVELY no post entries will be allowed. (See entry closing dates.) Entries MUST be received by closing date / time of each event.
e. Use a separate entry blank for each event. In order to assure preferred
time and date, send entries EARLY. Be sure to list a SECOND CHOICE. If no second choice is listed, or the second choice is full, the committee reserves the right to assign
a date and time.
4. EVENTS: Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Mixed Teams and Teams
a. For average requirements for the tournament and further explanation see Page 4.
b. In Doubles and Team Events, any bowler may enter regardless of average as long as the doubles and / or team combined
average does not exceed the 2007 MBA Adult Handicap State Tournament requirements for that particular event.
5. ALL EVENTS
a. All Events – Individual bowler must enter Singles, one Doubles Events(Doubles or Mixed Doubles) and one
Team Event(Teams or Mixed Teams) in ONE area. Your combined 13-string total
plus your personal handicap for each game equals your “All Events” total.
b. All Events must be entered before bowler’s first ball is rolled. Entrants
must check All Events board in order to verify entry.
c. Bowlers entering All Events must bowl all their events in the same area. Area
Seven bowlers can bowl in either Area A or Area B.
d. A separate entry blank must be filed (no fee required). Mail to Host center
for the singles or doubles in the “area” that you will bowl in.
6. SUBSTITUTIONS
a. Substitution may be made in any event except singles.
b. In the finals any substitute average may be used as long as average total does not exceed stated cap for that event.
c. Substitutes are subject to Average Verification rules. (See rule #2)
d. Replacement bowler/s may not have participated in that event.
e. Host center should be notified at least two hours prior to the event.
7.
GENERAL RULES
a. In case of default for any reason, entry fee will not be refunded.
b. Incomplete game/s – score stands at time of default.
c. In qualifying rounds, all ties for last qualifying position go to finals.
d. In case of ties at finals there will be no roll-offs. Cash prizes will
be divided equally. Next position/s move down.
Bowlers must be present and compete to cash.
e. All notices and prize money will be forwarded to the first person listed with a legible mailing address on entry blank. Distribution is their sole responsibility. Non-distribution
of prize funds will result in suspension from further MBA Tournaments.
f. Director reserves the right to add or delete from the schedule to accommodate entries.
g. ICBA official rules will govern all decisions. All decisions of the Tournament
Committee shall be final.
h. Returned check bank charge of $15.00 applies.
